Agile Training Characteristics and Special Features
We at Bold Mover want to make the best Agile training classes out there! We’re constantly experimenting to find better ways to deliver exceptional training. To give you an idea about our approach, here are the characteristics and special features of our Agile training classes:
Training Mechanics
The training classes are structured according to the principles of Training from the Back of the Room (TftBotR) by Sharon Bowman. The structure emphasizes learning instead of just listening, in order for the training to have the most impact on the participants.
In the training classes we will use…
- …different media channels (slides, flipcharts, post-its, video, audio, speech, storytelling, visual facilitation) - participants will not be bored, but entertained;
- …exercises to almost every aspect of the training - participants will not be passive; but highly active;
- …group work - participants will not be on their own, but master the training together.
After the training class, participants will receive a photo protocol of all the material we used during the training class. This includes their own work, so that they can refer to the content after the training class.
Lifelong Class Material
Class material used during the training, such as slides, videos, etc., will be made available for downloading after the class. As long as the received training class will live, i.e. as long as Bold Mover offers the received training class as a acquirable service, participants of the training class will be able to download every future update of the class material. That means, even long after the training class took place participants will benefit from constantly updated class material.
Resource Reference Record
With every training class we will provide a special document, called the resource reference record. In this document, participants will find references of resources to things like blog posts, articles, books, videos, etc., regarding the content of the training class. With this document, the participants can deepen their understanding of the content discussed and experienced during the training. Participants of the training class will receive the resources and reference record after the training class as an electronic document.
Questions During the Training?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions: Do you allow questions during the training? Yes, of course we do. And we even answer them :) If we can’t answer the question immediately in the middle of the training class, we have a process to collect the questions, prioritize them later by the participants, and answer as many questions as possible at the end of the training class.
Feedback and Improvement
During the training, we gather feedback from the participants on a regular basis to improve the training even during the training class. At the end of the training, we conduct a very short survey, called the Net Promoter System (NPS). We use the NPS to get feedback and to compare training classes between themselves, so we can eventually improve our training classes on a regular basis. Our current average NPS score is +53.89.
Flexible Agenda
Each training class’ agenda is a so called flexible agenda, which means that the participants are allowed to bring in their own agenda points. The prioritisation of the agenda points are frequently changed with the participants’ help.
The agenda is flexible, because our training is designed in a way for the participants to get the most out of it - which is why they can frequently influence the agenda according to their needs.
Certificate of Training
On request, we’re happy to provide a certificate of training for everyone who participated and completed a training class.
Simulations and Exercises
More than 50% of each training class consists of exercises and simulations, where the participants take action. They apply the theoretical content they learned before, which deepens their understanding and build up first experience with the topic at hand. Exercises and simulations create a very powerful and energetic learning environment, so that the participants are able to follow the class attentively, even at the end of the day.
